Poli maraton

Poli marathon is the biggest cycling event for amateurs in Slovenia, and as I heard also one of the biggest ones in Europe of this kind. Since the course goes pass our house, of course I couldn't avoid it.

There was 6200 participants. There's just beautiful to see so many bikers at one place. And the weather was also sunny and very nice. Organisators did a good job, feeding all these people. They a bit exaggerated with fee, which was more than 20$. You also got a T-shirt, but I'm not very excited about cycling around advertising a sausage.. Well, we even got a medal at the end..

Today my legs are sore and I can hardly walk, because I was pedaling like crazy, maintaining speed at about 30 km/h most of the time on straight roads. Which is not so easy at all considering the course was 65 km long and considering that my bicycle is mountain bike with wide wheels, not optimum for such paved road, and this way alot of energy goes in vain comapring to specialised racing bikes..

Here's some snapshots, of not such good quality, taken with my phone:

Bikers gathering at end of the race..

Guys wearing the Poli shirt

One of the many after marathon parking spaces

Foooood

Crowd gathering in a tent after tha marathon

Conclusion: The even was extra nice. If there's a chance I'll definitely go next year again. I heard the rumors they're preapring even a longer course for well prepared cyclers, 100km long. Good motivation to train more.. And I'm still searching some fotos taken from helicopter from above. It must have been a great view at the start of the event.

And here's the schema of the course:

Tour d'slovenske gorice (I wish)

I put on my cycling pants, tuck in my white undershirt, put on my cycling top over it. I put my phone in my back pocket, plug in the earphones to it, lay the earphoes cable under the shirt, and switch on Radio SI. It is 6PM, I'm thinking if I go now.. after 2 hours it still won't be too cold, so it's ok. I take the helmet, go in front of the mirror, adjust it, take some money. In my mind I'm deciding which course will I take today. I feel kinda lazy and I don't feel like too much hills. I'm thinking 30, 35 kilometers.

I go to the garage and... NO BIKE! What? Where is it? oh.. my brother! Damn. I call him. The phone rings in his room. DAMN!

And what am I gonna do now??!

Another one bites the dust

The August two ou six. Alot of time for myself, done alot of thinking, had a great vacation and read 3 remarkable books: Clockwork orange by Anthony Burgess, Animal farm by Orwell and Andre Gide's - The Counterfeiters.. I'll definitely be reading more of these authors, specially Burgess.

Besides that I've also been banned from an online flash game (mini golf), because I used words butt and kinky in it's chatroom. That's a bit too strict, ain't it?

Slovenske Gorice signs

Slovenske Gorice - the area in eastern part of Slovenia, where I live
gorica = small mountain
gorica = vineyard (in our dialekt - today I realised why; because all hills around here are covered with vineyards, with cherry church / chapel on top)

6.7.

Listening to "Isn't she lovely" by Stevie Wonder, on repeat, and thinking of you. And of 6.7.

So, 22 years ago, on this day, after alot of struggle, a little baby girl was born.... And the rest is history.. :). And this little baby girl, had such influence on my life, like no other..

I remember how I used to confuse it for 7.6., and how I was embarrased when got cought on it. And mail from you, 4 years ago when you said that from then on you can officialy rent porn :) And later, me being nervous trying to think of something to make you happy. And of course, me failing in doing so, by giving you the ball. Damn that ball :)
And the Russian country side, last year.. I was never with you on 6.7. Also I won't be this year..

Anyway.

Isn't she lovely? ;)

What did you do? What did you say?
Did you walk - or did you run away?
Where are you now? Where have you been?
Did you go alone - or did you bring a friend?

Katie Melua - Piece by Piece

I like

Memories

Sometimes memories come hounting me. Memories of times, that once were, so beautiful and magical, but they are only memories now. Getting more and more vague every week, every month. Sometimes it is scary to realise that what was then the most important thing, is now vanishing into nothing. Soon there will be nothing. Just a story to tell.
So scary, and yes, sad. To leave behind something, you don't want to let go. But there's no other way.

Mr Lordi from Finland

Wings on my back
I got horns on my head
My fangs are sharp
And my eyes are red
Not quite an angel
Or the one that fell
Now choose to join us or go straight to Hell

We have the winner! :) I like Eurovision, I really do :)

I found out they even do their own costumes and of course write their own lyrics and all. My respect!

You can find the interview here and the whole lyrics here.

And if you try sometime you find
You get what you need

Bolje z biciklom v kurbarijo kot pa z mercedesom na delo!!!!

My friend's statement today. It means "Better with the bicycle to the kurbarija* than with Mercedes to work!" :)

*kurbarija is hard to translate. Kurba = whore. But in this case it's not meant whore-house, but more in general, going to "kurbarija" means more like going out after girls with sexual intensions

Just another beautiful morning

Already wednesday, feels like monday. This week will pass very quickly, again. Such a beautiful morning, so fresh and sunny, big beautiful lilac is blooming just outside and it smells like spring at it's best..

There's alot of work to be done, and alot of nice thoughts runing trough my head. I'm thinking of that morning, when I woke up, as soon as it got bright, you were sleeping quite close to me. I was watching you sleep, hoping that you won't turn to the other side. And I was so incedibly happy. I think you felt that look. You were lying there, so peaceful and calm, and beautiful, like always in the mornings. I was sleeping on the floor, but I haven't felt as comfortable in a very long time.

Heavy hamster

They sound something like this. // 3gp video format
Lounge-radio.com <- recommended
If you leave me now, you’ll take away the biggest part of me
No baby please don’t go
If you leave me now, you’ll take away the very heart of me
No baby please don’t go

A love like ours is love that’s hard to find
How could we let it slip away
We’ve come too far to leave it all behind
How could we end it all this way
When tomorrow comes we’ll both regret
Things we said today

I'll be your baby tonight

Close your eyes, close the door,
You don't have to worry any more.
I'll be your baby tonight.

Shut the light, shut the shade,
You don't have to be afraid.
I'll be your baby tonight.

Well, that mockingbird's gonna sail away,
We're gonna forget it.
That big, fat moon is gonna shine like a spoon,
But we're gonna let it,
You won't regret it.

Kick your shoes off, do not fear,
Bring that bottle over here.
I'll be your baby tonight.

Key to my heart belongs to you
Angel of the morning
Terribly I want you
Eternity I want to spend with you
Romance
Insane, maybe
Nobel.
Are you gonna marry me?

Seen the world with you
Apologised too many times
Pardon my French
Undo, and try again
No more pain
Only happines
Virtual and so real
And..you know.. (Amsterdam)

I'm trembeling, feeling all nervous, my hands are sweating. Chain smoking to make it all milder, doesn't really help. What the hell is wrong with me??!
