I deeply hope the tick I was hosting on my leg for last 2 days, which I later pulled out with it's head remaining in my flesh forming a red circle around the bite, was not infected with one of the very serious viruses - these little suckers can carry around.

Flat tire

Ljubljana is a very nice city, I am happy to have moved here. In general city environment is more suitable for me over a country side.

But there is one problem with Ljubljana - parking. Today I found 2 flat tires on my car in front of work place. I guess that sign "Only for employees" stands there with a reason, but still, come on, couldn't they just give me a note first?! First I was quite indifferent about it, but when I realized there is nowhere to get a little tiny tool to screw the inner part of the tube valve back in, after taking the wheel to gasoline station, getting my hands black dirty and all - I wanted to shoot a guy who did it.

Tomorrow next week I'm going to work by bicycle!

While thinking I usually write down some stuff on a piece of paper, nonsense really... So I write HEY JUDE with capital letters, out of no reason, I don't even like the song much or anything...when I suddenly click a link to some video from my RSS reader. After video ends YouTube suggests you some videos you could watch next and it offers me one titled HEY JUDE. It freaked me out :)

SiMobil

SMS service to some of the foreign countries still doesn't work. They developed so many new services like video call and I don't know what else, but when you try to send good old plain text sms it fails.

So, anybody concerned, it's not me, it's the mobile carrier... :)

GPS

I bought a GPS device recently and I am more than happy to own this thing. Since the prices for this Garmin are quite low these days, it is completely worth to buy it - specially for someone like me who is not so great with directions. You just enter the address and it tells you exactly where to drive, impossible to miss. What a time/gasoline/nerve saver. Amazing...

Moving to Ljubljana

Finding an apartment in Ljubljana is not an easy task, since demand is much higher than the offer. The fact also results in very high prices. For example 500€ rent is barely enough of a monthly rent for a nice, new, 1 room apartment of size about 40-45m2. That's without expenses, of course. If you're buying, you better have 100.000€ on your account, if you want something close to decent (of course luxury starts at 300.000€..).

Today on 25.2.2008 is the day of grief in Slovenia. Two days ago we have lost a man, who I respected very much and whose loss saddened me very much . Ex president, who has baked his own bread, a politician who has done a lot for our little nation, a man who I always hoped will win the elections, because I always wanted him as my president, and he always did. He will be remembered for a lot of good things he has achieved, also for his struggle in last years - to spread positive energy, modesty, good and peace.

The song took my attention while working and as usually listening to Lounge radio station on DI.FM. Really nice song.

Business and stuff...

I took a job in Ljubljana. My life has become a bit strange, sleeping till 9 or even 11, staying up all night, sometimes I can spend all day in a same t-shirt I sleep in, not going out much, meetings are like once a week only... On one side I'm sad because it will be my first real job in life... 8 to 4, every day. I have no idea how will I handle it. I'm not 100% sure it was a right decision, but I feel I need to go out, mingle with the people. It's not about money but about social life and opportunity to learn new stuff. In IT you can quickly become out of date if you don't follow recent technology updates, and big companies offer that. Also they offer security and a flat in Ljubljana, which is not bad...

Stand-up comedy

Comedian is a documentary about stand-up comedy, the profession which I always admired very much, and it is, in my opinion, one of the hardest professions there is. With wrong approach it's very easy to make a fool of yourself, you must have your own material, be creative, same joke doesn't work 2 times, it takes alot of wit and knowledge to make people laugh and big guts to perform live in front of unpredictable crowd.. I really admire a good stand up comedian and there are not many...

The documentary is mostly about Seinfeld, who happens to be one of my biggest idols...

I thought I saw everything made by him, so it was pleasant surprise to find this documentary.

Business and stuff

Opening my private business turned out to be one of the best decisions in my life. Not just because my income is not limited with pretty much fixed monthly salary, but because of freedom. It's true that responsibilities to my clients are maybe even bigger than they were before towards my employer but I'm much more satisfied as I have the feeling of having all the strings in my hands.

But of course, like every thing, there is also a downside. There is no real vacation like before, when you just forget about your work and let clients be boss's problems. Also, if you decide to be on the lazy side for a while - the money doesn't come in. Always it is necessary to plan far ahead and if I get sick for a longer period I can loose most of the clients, since I'm alone. Expanding the company brings extra problems and need for an office space and increased monthly expenses...

These days I got an offer, which seems to be pretty good, for a job. It is going to be a hard decision to make, if the offer it too good to refuse...

On the other side another offer came, which means not only changing the town, like in the first one, but also changing the continent.

It is going to be an interesting year...

Greatest band ever

Lately I've been listening to Beatles again - in the car, while working, watching their concerts, I even watched Yellow submarine the movie. It is unbelievable how popular they still are. On YouTube their videos have millions of views and almost every minute on at least one of their videos one comment is made saying "I love this song" or "I love Beatles" or "amazing" etc. And that's only on YouTube. And this is mostly younger generation. On last.fm - site, which tracks what people listen, The Beatles are on 2nd place for LAST WEEK. Last week - a band from 60's.. and I think most of the weeks are like that. Overall they have a huge lead of played songs and are far most listened band on the world, still...
Every second, many people in the world are made happy by a Beatles song. What an achievement it is!

I wanted to put my favorite Beatles song here, but I can't decide, there are at least 15 favorites!

Why am I at 2:30 AM reading blogs and watching videos on YouTube, since I'm having a meeting tomorrow at 9:00 and I still have 3 hours of work, I really don't know...

Hmm, if I finish everything I'll have about 1 hour of sleep left. How nice.

Almost every Sunday turns out like that, when weekend job gets done at last minute. When will I ever learn....
